Are Thin Mints Vegan?
If you look at a package of Thin Mints, you won’t see any actual wording that says “vegan.” However, reading the ingredients list looks promising. There is nothing in the ingredients that indicates the cookies contain any animal products. In fact, another good sign is the notice which says “Contains wheat and soy ingredients”…so no dairy warning there. So far so good, but can you eat Thin Mints with 100% confidence?
Thin Mints Bakeries
The official Girl Scouts website provides helpful information for people interested in nutritional information for the cookies. If you click on the Thin Mints picture, you will see that two different bakeries make the cookies…ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. You can click on each bakery for details. Guess what? Both ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers clearly and prominently say that their Thin Mints are in fact vegan!
So go ahead and enjoy Thin Mints to your heart’s content…and if you’re a frozen Thin Mints fan, don’t forget to pop them in the freezer! Want more information on cookies for vegans? We've reviewed other vegan cookies and put together a list of our favorite vegan cookie brands!
